Anderson Jones, PLLC founder and attorney Todd A. Jones was invited to speak to the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Joint Construction Law and Young Lawyers Division Event via Zoom. Topic of the discussion was, “Everything I Ever Wanted to Know About Claims of Lien on Real Property but was Too Afraid to Ask.” Todd explained the basic form, function, and requirements of a claim of lien. He also reviewed issues such as relevant definitions under Chapter 44A, the right of general contractors and subcontractors/suppliers to lien property, the proper process for noticing and filing claims of lien on real property, and the impact of recent case law on claims of lien.
