Anderson Jones, PLLC proudly sponsored and attended SPC Mechanical’s 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at The Country Club of Whispering Pines. This event raises money for four NC charities: The CHEW, Inc., Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. This tournament had a record turnout and raised $80,000.00. Thank you SPC Mechanical for all you are doing for our communities and allowing us to partner in your efforts!
The CHEW is The Children’s Hunger Elimination of Wilson, Inc. committed to seeing that no child in Wilson County is prevented from learning, growing, and developing his or her potential because of hunger. Since the spring of 2012 they have been providing weekend bags of food during the school year for all of the chronically hungry students of the county.
The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle recovers and distributes over 8 million pounds of food per year, and teaches skills for self-sufficiency including culinary job skills, shopping and cooking healthy on a budget, and how to grow food.
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina provides a regional distribution warehouse and branches that supply food and grocery items to charitable agencies that assist people in need. They provide training, technical assistance and hunger education to their partner agencies.
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC serves the 18 counties of Northwest North Carolina by providing food and support 430+ on-the-ground local partner programs and by lifting the message of food insecurity and poverty into the public eye.
